“Opening the Makaan Regional Center is a milestone for us. It grows our portfolio of properties and allows us to create tangible, lasting impact in our investment areas and in the lives of immigrant investors,” said Makaan CEO Madina Shaik.
Regional Centers are authorized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to promote economic growth through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.
Madina adds, “Our team is here to connect three parties—investors, communities, and practitioners in real estate—to direct capital where it’s most needed. Through it, we hope to deliver growth for the many stakeholders in real estate.”
The EB-5 program lays out specific measures of success for the investment. Applicants must invest at least $800,000 in targeted employment areas (TEA) and $1,050,000 in Non-TEA. The investment must also generate at least ten full-time, permanent jobs. To achieve this, Makaan reinforces its team with a network of global partners in wealth management, immigration advisory, education consulting, and HNI provider. The company leverages its established name in multifamily space to secure strong real estate projects that will help EB-5 investors successfully invest and immigrate to the United States as Permanent Residents.
More Than an Investment, EB-5 to ‘Break New Ground’
Beyond the investment’s economic impact, EB-5 transforms the immigration process. Approval is expected within 2-3 years from application, helping investors and communities benefit from the investment as soon as possible.
“We’re most excited about how much can be done through the EB-5 Program. By streamlining the process for potential investors, we accelerate the rollout of projects and their accompanying opportunities.” Madina explains, “As an immigrant who’s built a life in the US, the Makaan Regional Center is a project close to my heart.”
Makaan’s CEO came to the US decades ago as an IT professional before building his two companies, Makaan Investment Group and CompQsoft, from the ground up. He maintains strong relationships with the immigrant community, seeing them as key drivers of growth in their localities.
“Ultimately, the EB-5 Program brings to fore the tremendous potential in working together to contribute to the US economy and break new ground for growth,” shares Madina.
